Formula Standards

21-Free Nail Polish Base

Our standard nail polish base is formulated without the following ingredients commonly excluded from cosmetic nail products:

Animal-derived ingredients, toluene, benzene, xylene, formaldehyde releasers, formaldehyde resin, phthalates, cyclic silicones, camphor, methyl ethyl ketone (MEK), glycol ethers of the E-series, hydroquinone (HQ), monomethyl ether hydroquinone (MEHQ), triphenyl phosphate (TPP), nonylphenol ethoxylates, tert-butyl hydroperoxide, chromium oxide greens, CMR substances, synthetic fragrance, or ethyl tosylamide.

Base Formula Characteristics

We use proprietary base formulas designed to balance smooth application, durability, and color performance. These are traditional air-dry lacquer formulas that dry quickly in thin layers and continue to set over time.

For glitter shades and heavier pigments, a thicker suspension base is used to keep effect materials evenly distributed. If a thinner formula is preferred, a standard nail polish thinner may be used. Please note that thinning glitter or pigment-heavy formulas may cause settling in the bottle. Shake well before use to re-incorporate.

Grip It, Grip It Good Base Coat

Sticky But Not Tacky Base Coat (10-Free)

This base coat uses a traditional 10-free formulation designed for enhanced adhesion and differs from our standard 21-free polish base.

SD Alcohol, Ethyl Acetate, Heptane, Butyl Acetate, Polyvinyl Butyral, Trimethyl Pentanyl Diisobutyrate, Nitrocellulose, Tosylamide/Epoxy Resin, Isopropyl Alcohol, Benzophenone-1, Blue 1, Yellow 11.

Solar Reactive Nail Polish

Solar reactive nail polishes use a 10-free base formulation to allow UV exposure to activate the color-changing pigments. Standard UV-blocking ingredients commonly used to prevent fading are minimized in these formulas to preserve the solar effect.

10-Free Formula Excludes:

Toluene, Formaldehyde, Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), Formaldehyde Resin, Camphor, Xylene, Ethyl Tosylamide, Parabens, Fragrance, Animal-Derived Ingredients.

Solar Polish Base Ingredients:

Nitrocellulose, Ethyl Acetate, Butyl Acetate, Propyl Acetate, Isopropyl Alcohol, n-Butyl Alcohol, Triphenyl Phosphate.

Colorants & Effect Materials

Depending on the shade, polishes may also contain one or more of the following colorants or effect materials:

Chromium Hydroxide, Ferric Ferrocyanide, Stannic Oxide, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides, Ultramarines, Manganese Violet, Opalescent Pigments, Mica, Synthetic Mica, Natural Pearls, Aluminum Powder, PET/PVC Glitter, Biodegradable Glitter
